We have been following new procedures and systems to meet our daily life goals since then. One of them is the method of online studies. It was almost impossible for everyone of us to imagine life when the virus was introduced for the first times. Schools, colleges, universities were shut down with in a period of a month. Whilst students kept hoping that their classes will be rescheduled soon but nothing as such happened. This is an essay on online study.

Education is most crucial part of our life. It makes us what we are today. Education decides our future and our character. If we do not take education seriously then it can spoil our life. Imagining studies in an online platform is almost surprising to all us. Life has been really traumatised since covid has happened. At first, no one even imagined that studies could have been done in online mode. But after weeks of lockdown, we were left with no option but online studies. No doubt, the initial days were tough for everyone. Starting from teachers to students. Many of us are not well versed with today’s technology. Many of us do not even have the desired gadgets for online studies.
But if we take it in a positive way then we can say that the corona virus outbreak has gifted us the online education system. As in this changing era, almost everything is possible online. Education not being carried out in this digital world in a wide range was quite strange. As now we can order meals online, shop online etc then we needed an online education system too. But this was surely a sudden turn for everyone of us. None of us were prepared for such a change. No one was prepared for this whole pandemic situation as well. But as it was a sudden change, many amongst us have suffered lots of education related losses.
There are still many families who can not afford the desired gadgets for online education for example- there are families who have two or more school going kids but only one mobile or laptop. The timings are ought to get clashed. Even there are families who do not know the procedure of usage of the new day’s technologies. That is why the government has introduced a new campaign called “Bharat Padhe Online Campaign” to compensate the losses in education which due the Covid-19 outbreak. This campaign also emphasises the importance of online education as in further times, education in digital platform is going to be widely accepted. We surely have some drawbacks of online education as well. So, we need to carefully adopt the method of online education.
This is not only the situation of the country. Covid-19 has affected the education system globally. Almost every school, college, university in the whole world was shut down for couple of months and even years now. Statistically, over one million students could not go for offline mode of studies. Hence, new platforms for digital education were introduced in every country. This was obviously very beneficial for many companies and it is still being.

The downloads of apps like Zoom meeting, Google Classroom, Google meet etc suddenly increased. Even companies like Unacademy, Grade-up etc were also benefitted. Some of the courses were even made free.
Although, there are many advantages of online education. First and the best advantage of online education is that the flexibility we get because of online learning. Now-a-days, we are having even having recordings for our classes or meetings. Other than that, we can always screen record and take help from that. Time has become very flexible to manage for the teachers as well as for the students.
Secondly, we are getting more well versed with technology. Many of us had no interest in technology but as times are getting digital, we are left with no option but we have to learn the new digital technologies now.
Thirdly, online education has made learning possible for the distance learners as well. Even working professionals are able to continue their further studies because of online education. People having no good schools or colleges in their place of stay are privileged to get education from the top universities of the country as well as the world.
Fourthly online education is somehow good for the environment as it has minimised the usage of pen, paper, copies and books.
If we are talking about the advantages then we must talk about the disadvantages too. Obviously, every coin has two sides and likewise, online study has disadvantages too.
If we talk about the disadvantages, then firstly, online education is not that much feasible for everyone. It requires certain electronic gadgets which are not quite expensive. Not everyone can afford such costly style of education. At least, in a country like India, online study is still a challenge for many families. And such a scenario is creating loss in education for many students.
Statistically, online education is affecting students both mentally and physically secondly. Students are not getting to do much physical activities which can be proven harmful in later days. Sitting in front of the screen for long hours is affecting the eyesight of the students too. If we talk how mental health is being affected then it can go long as another essay.
Thirdly, somewhere online education is distracting students in many ways. Students have developed a lazy attitude for everything. Digital platforms have many distractions too like the social media apps etc.
So, we can conclude that online study has its own benefits and demerits too but as we have entered a digital era now, we must think about the solutions for the disadvantages. At least because of this pandemic, we must adapt to the style of online learning because that is the safest way possible.
