In this essay we are going to talk about the Childhood. Whenever someone asks what is the best part of our lives the answer would undoubtedly be childhood. It’s the most carefree age we were in. We cannot agree on enough saying childhood is the best part of our lives. We explore, evolve, grow through wrong steps, and so on. We learn quite a lot of things in childhood. It is the happiest and enjoyable age we ever get to experience because once we grow up, it’s running errands with life. There is no moment you can live in again.

I’m sure childhood’s best part was friends, games and so on. The excitement to go around with friends and play was indeed so fulfilling. Coming back home drenched in sweat and having the most delicious dish made by my mom. Childhood had so much learning and was filled with an abundance of fun. We had many friends to play with, studies weren’t hectic, and everything seemed like a fairytale. We lived tension-free without any stress of deadlines or work.

Being a child is a blessing. We had no clue about the outside and lived in our bubble. We created fond memories with love and fun. Childhood is where you get to live life as real as possible. You are solely yourself no matter how the environment is. You would enjoy little things like playing in the rain, eating chocolates secretly, going out, and so on. We were valiant in taking risks and stubborn with things.

This pandemic has hit us very hard. There were so many tough situations faced and tons of mental health issues but yet we did not give up, instead, we bounced back stronger. Everything had changed. Being home, online classes, work from home, everything digitized, and eventually, we habituated to it without noticing. But realizing that children at a very young age are missing their childhood. That’s the best part they can have in their lives.

They were homebound, couldn’t go out to play, meet friends, enjoy little things, they lost everything. It had the purest emotions that must be felt. Children lost the most carefree part of their lives and developed thoughts of asociality. That’s the age where you socialize with others and create bonds. It is disheartening to see them not spend their childhood as we did. It was all online, home, and just idle time.

This affected them immensely in multiple ways. But then we had to cooperate with the situations around us. We are lucky enough to live our childhood with having utmost fun. We did not have any fears of failure, pressure, stress, expectations, work, deadlines, and so on. These all have changed us and affected us so much. We barely make time to reminisce and forget to live in the moment.

Childhood’s best part and realization were LIVE IN THE MOMENT. Think back once whenever we had to do something we would fear or think we would just decide to do it irrespective of consequences. We lived in the moment. That’s a realization now, we don’t fully live in the moment and constantly have thoughts about the past or future. Childhood’s best lesson was to live in the moment. I vividly remember the best moments because I lived in them without any thoughts haunting me. A happy kid lived so cheerily and fun.

Today we are automated to the monotonous routines in life. The tensions, stress, worries, vows, voids don’t last forever, they end at some point in life, and it’s just a phase. Leaving all of them back and just living in the moment is important, and that can only be done only when the child in you is alive. The child in you knows everything and tells you to live in the moment. In the end, we land at the same point whether we run fast or slow. Know that you can’t relive moments, and you can only live when the child inside you yearns for it.
